ARTIST BIO

i have been a quilt artist and 'sometimes painter' for over 30 years. In the past ten years I have been painting seriously. I attend  regular painting and drawing lessons and workshops and do much ' self learning ' via the Internet and  art books.  My main passion is exploring colour through abstract, impressionist and expressionist works, using mainly acrylic paints. I use multiple layers of paint in most of my work with the underlying layers partially showing through and creating depth.  I also enjoy using pastels for abstract and realistic works of art. I am inspired by many artists including Rothko, Matisse, Kandinsky, Georgia O'Keefe, Helen Frankenthaler, de Kooning and Jeffrey Smart.
